The spokesman of Intel Dave Salvator said that they are going to integrate the PCI-E 3.0 to the near Thunderbol connectors. Buy motherboard of 2.0 configurations may be not the first choice of people.
Intel Thunderbolt technology integrates two high speed total wires standard: the PCI-E and DisplayPort together, furthermore, it also works with double trends digital flow, at present, the complete bandwidth is 10Gbps, which is confirmed by using the PCI-E 2.0 x4, if update to PCI-E 3.0, the bandwidth will reach to 20Gbps.
Intel declared recently that they have already make the Thunderbolt technology to work with the PCI-E 3.0, which can reach one times better than the 2.0 as for the transferring speed, however, they still unwilling to leave out more details about it.
Until now, it is not clear that whether the Thunderbolt of PCI-E 3.0 is going to use the copper wires or not, or it will adopt the optical instead, as Intel used to claimed that they would adopt the silicon components and optical on Post- Thunderbolt, which can reach 50Gbps in 100 meters.
PTB at firstly planed to list on date before or after 2015, the PCI-E 3.0 Thunderbolt will be ready between 2013 and 2014.
